Hi Mike, Congratulations for your new job. I will really miss Operator. I thought Mozilla Labs will continue putting some more weight on it but its fine. I am still fan of Addressbar Icon. I would suggest having same for maybe activities so that there is notification on what all (microformat) services are available on a page. I am really don't think if Activities can ever replace Operator.

Thanks for such a wonderful extension. I would have helped you if i knew how to write FF Extensions :)

I hope the transition goes well for you.

FrontMotion's Firefox Community Edition does indeed support MSI deployment and Group Policy. The only thing missing for me as an enterprise administrator is support for the Windows Certificate store, instead of the built-in nss store. This causes problems when accessing intranet sites that make use of a private CA and user certificates. Whilst it is possible to deploy firefox with a built in CA certificate, it still remains unable to access users' client certificates for which they are enrolled automatically at login time with the certificate autoenrollment policy.

Hi,

I am really sad to see Mozilla Operator go. Isn't there any chance of Mozilla Labs taking over it or something similar? Semantic web needs a consumer application like that to actually directly deliver value when annotating web content.

But anyway I wish you a lot of luck on trimming your responsibilities and with your new job position!

bye

I understand that it could be difficult to let some things go. I had that same problem with a few projects, and it was dragging me back. Now I just create pet projects that are either done in a few days and released or not done at all and kept secret, or talked about with friends. The short cycle helps keep my productivity and enthusiasm high. It's hard going back to old projects. But then again, I don't create many things that get many users :)
Congrats on getting repositioned at IBM (if, for nothing else the steady paycheck).

Congratulations on your new job/position within IBM. Good to 'SHED' some of the things, even if it hurts. AMO has grown very big with lots of extensions that everybody created in a spur for a specific need, similar to Enterprise Mashups (for which even IBM has joined the game: IBM Mashup Center).
It is indeed important to clean the shed of all those little mashup applications that were once useful, but probably not any longer (and could be recreated if needed easily).
One problem though one can't really delete extensions from AMO, only 'disable' them. According to statistics extensions that I have disabled long time ago are still being downloaded and used!

Looking forward to read more about your new job!

Greetings, Alfred Kayser
